Olive & Herb Flatbread

Bread was central to biblical meals—Jesus broke bread with his disciples at the Last Supper. Olives and herbs were common across the region. This simple flatbread pays homage to the essential role of bread in both daily life and Christian liturgy.

Ingredients:

– 2 cups whole wheat flour

– ½ teaspoon salt

– 1 teaspoon dried oregano or thyme

– 1 tablespoon olive oil

– ¾ cup warm water

– ¼ cup chopped olives

Instructions:

1. Mix flour, salt, and herbs in a bowl.

2. Add olive oil and warm water, kneading into a soft dough.

3. Fold in chopped olives and let rest for 15 minutes.

4. Roll into small rounds and cook on a dry skillet over medium heat until golden.

5. Serve warm and fresh.

Whether shared during a celebration or enjoyed in quiet reflection, this flatbread represents the deep spiritual symbolism of bread in Christian culture—unity, simplicity, and gratitude.
