Urgent Flood Relief: Our Affiliates on the Frontlines in Czech

This past week, torrential rains have caused the worst floods in the Czech Republic in over 30 years, devastating towns and villages across the country. Homes have been submerged, entire communities have been left stranded and in desperate need of support.

At Food Yoga International, we are deeply committed to responding to emergencies like this, and our incredible network of affiliates has once again sprung into action. Food For All UK, one of our leading affiliates, has swiftly deployed their emergency response team to the affected areas.

Upon arrival, Food For All UK wasted no time, with volunteers already on the ground, setting up emergency kitchens to provide hot plant-based meals to both displaced residents and the emergency responders risking their lives to save others.

Loka Saranga, a volunteer, shared her experience:

“On arrival, we just started cooking lunch for desperate people, the army, and helpers. It’s a big sacrifice, but I feel from the heart that it’s the right thing to do—working in unity with local volunteers, emergency workers, and soldiers. There’s so much appreciation and thankfulness.”

In just one day, the team drove from Camden to Northern Czech, and within two hours, they were distributing hot meals and supplies. The impact of these meals has been immense, especially for those who had been stranded without power, running water, or communication for days. Victor Rogalev, one of the volunteers, described the devastation:

“The town was submerged by a flood wave brought by the Oder River, fueled by record rains. Whole towns were flooded, roads destroyed, vehicles swept away. A hot meal goes a long way in these miserable conditions.”

The situation remains critical, with thousands of people in need of food, shelter, and essential supplies. The scale of the flooding has overwhelmed local services, and our teams are working around the clock to make sure no one goes without a meal during this difficult time. However, they need urgent help to keep the kitchens running and ensure there are enough supplies for everyone.

How You Can Help:

We are calling on our global community for support. Your donations will allow us to continue purchasing the emergency equipment and supplies needed to sustain these relief efforts. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps our teams remain on the frontlines, providing life-saving meals and care to those who need it most.
