Everything You Need to Know
We’ve answered some of the burning questions that you might
have about veganism and charities here.
Food Yoga International is headquartered in the US. We are a small non-profit, but we oversee an international network of over 200 affiliates that serve up to 2 million vegan meals every day.
Food Yoga International, formerly known as Food for Life Global has roots in India that date back to 1974 when the inspiration behind our project, Srila Prabhupada, requested that his yoga students feed hungry children in the villages of West Bengal, India. “No one should go hungry,” he said. From this grassroots effort, Food for Life expanded to 60 countries over the next 40 years.
Combating hunger and poverty isn’t easy, so we need your help! Food Yoga International will use your donation to fund its programs aimed toward helping communities fight hunger and poverty. Our fundraising and administrative expenses are minimal, because we want to make sure that each donation goes to support the mission. Hence, we operate our office virtually to reduce costs, and we plan our budget carefully to make food relief programs our top priority.
As of May, 2024, Food for Life Global has rebranded as Food Yoga International. We did this to highlight our food philosophy of food yoga that teaches the art and science of using food as a way to nourish body, mind, and soul and create unity in the world.
Yes, Food Yoga International’s network of affiliates only serve pure plant-based meals. Not only do we aim to fight poverty and hunger, but we also want to stop the exploitation of animals and the destruction of the environment. The only way to advocate for animal welfare, lower our carbon footprint, and improve people’s health is by being vegan and educating people about the importance of veganism.
FYI is made up of enthusiastic, dedicated people from all over the world who want to make a difference. People from different fields, including the environmental, marketing, food science, finance, HR, etc. work together toward a common goal. Our headquarters is virtual, but we are registered in Delaware, USA. We have another regional office for South America located in Colombia, and we recently set up another regional office in Central America. We welcome all people to join us. We have an equal opportunity policy.
