The tragedy in Turkey and Syria continues to unfold. An unimaginable level of grief and mourning for nearly 50,000 people who lost their lives in the devastation.
FFLG’s emergency relief team, headed by Food for All founder Peter O’Grady, from London, packed up and headed to Turkey and Syria within hours of learning about the catastrophic events.
They reported that the road was long a difficult but they were able to start distributing plant-based meals in Turkey and, yesterday, moved into a sports stadium so they could have the space they needed for distribution.
The team also has volunteers who have been able to connect with people in Syria and they are making their way there now to set up food distribution sites.
“People have suffered from guns and bombs for decards and now an earthquake. Most of the humanitarian help goes to Turkey so we decided to go the extra mile.” – Peter O’Grady
We all know the need in Turkey and Syria is overwhelming but to each person, standing in our line to receive a warm meal, the work of our FFLG volunteers is making a meaningful difference.
Plant-based food is prepared with love, and given to those grieving loved ones, mourning the loss of their home, and unsure of what the future holds.
Help FFLG continue to serve plant-based meals to the victims of the Turkey-Syria earthquake.
