Some reflections from our last food distribution in Colombia.
The center of Bogotá is very peculiar, in particular the center of the city, where our food distribution point is located. This day the sky was full of clouds and the wind was fierce, everyone knew well that it was an omen that a heavy rain was approaching, so you could see how everyone was looking for shelter.
We started wondering if we could get to our food distribution point before the rain did, and most importantly feed people before they ran from the rain. We took refuge, and had everything ready to distribute hundreds of dishes hoping people would come despite the rain.
It seemed that the people in the city were already waiting for us, despite the rain, as soon as we set the table and people were ready to serve there was already a line of people waiting.
There is much more pleasure in serving than in being served, but few have the good fortune to understand this. Around six hundred dishes were distributed before the rain stopped.
