Prasadam Das Comic series 1996
At that time, Nataraja das produced a comic book of Prasadam das promoting the ideals and practices of Food for Life. The character became a icon for the charity all over the world, appearing on vans and newsletters produced by affiliates of Food for Life Global. Most volunteers, however, were not aware of Prasadam das’s origins.

Prasadam means: Sanctified plant based meals; and das means: Servant of. So Prasadam das means, that person who is the servant of sanctified meals.
Prasadam also means mercy and there is nothing so merciful than giving food to someone you love and respect. In this way, Prasadam das represents the core essence of what Food for Life is all about, expressing our love for others through the liberal sharing of pure food.
